We are offering online, one-day workshops taught by incredible industry professionals with the goal of keeping our young performing artists engaged, focused on their goals and moving forward during these challenging times. These workshops will focus on skills and aspects of the performing arts that lend themselves more to the online format. We are thrilled with our lineup of teaching artists - including HAMILTON'S GREGORY TRECO, DEAR EVAN HANSEN'S RACHEL BAY JONES, STAR OF NETFLIX HIT SWEET MAGNOLIAS BROOKE ELLIOTT as well as Casting Agents,Talent Managers and MORE!

ACTING THE SONG WORKSHOP 

with HAMILTON’S 

GREGORY TRECO

Take your singing to the next level and work one on one with Hamilton Star Gregory Treco.  Gregory who played Aaron Burr on Broadway and Chicago will be working with our participants on communicating the story of a song and how to go about making specific, interesting choices so the acting is as powerful and beautiful as the singing. 

Grades 7- Adult

SELF-TAPE SUCCESS WORKSHOP with

CASTING DIRECTOR 

BRETTE GOLDSTEIN, CSA

 

Self tapes have become the trend in auditions especially now during the pandemic and they are here to stay.  Learn the ropes of how to do a successful self taped audition with one of the industry’s top TV and Film Casting Directors.  Brette will reveal the tricks of the trade and cover topics in how to create and set up your self tape area, what equipment you need including lighting and sound, what to do if you don’t have a reader at home, what devices you can use to do a self tape, how to upload and send your files and much more.  Bring your notebooks and questions and join us for this important workshop.  

Brette has cast five television series (USA, LMN, Lifetime, History Channel, Investigation Discovery), over 50 independent films, 300 commercials, 100 plays, seven pilot presentations (including “Odd Mom Out” for Bravo) and various new media projects, and was the resident casting director at Washington, DC’s Folger Elizabethan Theatre for ten seasons.

Intro to COMMERCIAL VOICE OVERS with

VO Phenom

STEVE FRENCH

 

In this fun introductory to commercial voice over class participants will get to work with one of the voice over industry’s top voice actors. Steve will talk about what it’s like to be a voice actor and give students the opportunity to work on real voice over commercial copy.  This workshop will also include a Q&A where you can ask Steve all about the lucrative world of Voice Overs including commercials, promos, gaming and animation and how to break into the industry.  Listen to Steve French’s impressive VO work at www.stevefrenchvo.com Grades 7 - Adult.

Intro to ON CAMERA ACTING with

SWEET MAGNOLIAS STAR 

BROOKE ELLIOTT

Netflix Sweet Magnolias star and Drop Dead Diva’s Brooke Elliott is joining us to work one on one with participants in this INTRO TO ON CAMERA ACTING workshop.  She will give you all the basics of acting on camera as you work through copy in class and how to make that transition from theatre to film and tv. There will also be a Q&A for this class.

Brooke Elliott stars in the new Netflix series, Sweet Magnolias, in the role of ‘Dana Sue Sullivan.’ She was also recently seen on Netflix in Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings: If I Had Wings. Elliott is best known for her portrayal in the lead role of ‘Jane Bingum’ in the Lifetime Television series, Drop Dead Diva, which ran for six seasons.  For her work on Drop Dead Diva, Elliott received the 2012 Women’s Image Network Award for “Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series,” the 2010 Gracie Award for “Female Rising Star in a Comedy Series” and was nominated in 2011 and 2014 for a PRISM Award for “Best Performance in a Comedy Series”. Elliott starred on Broadway in The Pirate Queen, an original musical from Schönberg and Boublil (Les Miserables) and Taboo (composed by Boy George, produced by Rosie O’Donnell).  She toured nationally with Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and was in the original cast of the 1st National Tour of Wicked. Elliott made her directorial debut on the web series, Say Hello, for which she directed six episodes.

Kids Biz Parents workshop with 

Talent Manager, ZOOM Talent Management

Kim Pedell 

 

Join us for an informative class where Kim will answer all of your burning questions about how to get your kid in show biz and what it all entails.  She will also cover what the industry looks like now for kids in a COVID year and what kids can do to keep moving forward while things are on pause. 

Kim has over 16 years of industry experience and also offers 15 years of experience in Public Relations, Advertising, Sales and Marketing. ZOOM Talent Management (ZTM) is a full service bi-coastal management company representing children, teens and young adults in NY and LA successfully working in Film and Television, on Broadway, Regional professional theaters as well as commercials, voiceovers and print work.

RACHEL BAY JONES!!!  

 

Spend the hour chatting with Rachel as she shares with you her journey to Broadway and opens the floor up to your questions.

All ages wellcome.

Rachel Bay Jones is best known for originating the role of ‘Heidi Hansen’ in the Original Broadway Cast of Dear Evan Hansen, and received a Tony Award, Emmy Award, Grammy Award, Lucille Lortel Award, and Drama League Nomination for her performance.

​​She can currently be seen on the hit ABC series “Modern Family,” CBS’ “God Friended Me,” and in the feature film “Ben Is Back,” opposite Julia Roberts. She stars in the upcoming feature film “Critical Thinking,” directed by and opposite John Leguizamo and in the upcoming television series “Panic.”

​​Additional Broadway credits include Pippin, Hair, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. Off-Broadway & Regional/National Tour include Next To Normal (Kennedy Center), Dear Evan Hansen (Drama Desk Nomination) at Second Stage, First Daughter Suite at The Public Theater, Hello Again, A Christmas Story, Pippin, Sylvia, & The King and I.

​​On Television, Rachel recently appeared on NBC’s “Law & Order: SVU,” ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Family,” and the FX series “Louie.”
