BAC’s Summer Theatre Workshop 2020
Dear BAC Families and Students,
We hope this message finds you all safe and well.
We have all been watching our country and the world undergo an incredible challenge. While New York State has been rolling out a 4 Phase plan to reopen businesses and the Ulster County Department of Health is still in the process of determining if summer camps will be permitted, we can not foresee conditions improving enough in time for our Summer Theatre Workshop in July. And so, we are officially canceling the Summer Theatre Workshop 2020 at SUNY New Paltz.
The theatre arts is not something that can be taught or experienced fully or safely under the current circumstances. The safety concerns for all would eclipse any efforts to offer the level of program we strive to deliver each summer.
We will be refunding payments in full to everyone. Look for a credit through PayPal on whatever credit card you initially used. Please allow up to 2 weeks for the processing to complete. If you paid by check, please email us back with your current mailing address.
We will be offering some online, one-day workshops taught by incredible industry professionals throughout the summer. These workshops will focus on skills and aspects of the performing arts that lend themselves more to the online format. We are thrilled with our lineup of teaching artists, including
Rachel Bay Jones (Broadway’s original Heidi Hansen in Dear Evan Hansen, Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical)
Brooke Elliott (TV and Film Actor - Sweet Magnolias, Drop Dead Diva)
Gregory Treco (Broadway’s Hamilton where he has played the roles of Burr & Washington)
Jennifer Cody (Broadway and Voice Actor - Voice of Charlotte in Disney’s Princess and the Frog)
Steve French (Voice Actor - Film, Television and Commercials)
Erica Schroeder (Broadway and Voice Actor - Pokemon)
Kim Pedell (Agent, Zoom Talent)
Gayle Seay (Casting Director, Wojcik-Seay Casting)
Be sure to find us on Instagram and Facebook for details with dates and times for these special summer workshops.
We are confident we will all come out of this with a refreshed outlook on the world which will lead to more creative problem solving as well as moving, inspired works across all of the arts. We look forward to seeing all of you in person when it is once again safe for us all to come together to celebrate the arts and young talent! Thank you for your continued support.
